Hey Bojon - Good to see you back on the site. Hey look what my wife & I got at an auction last weekend. [I know, it's no Series 1, Cobra, or even a GT350...] but it was in the budget!

'67 Mustang. 289 V-8 with 4 barrel.

Regards, Marcus.

Hey NL

What a beauty! You know with all the new Mustangs and special mod light vehicles, ( I built the Dodge performance GLHS etc with Shelby) the early Mustangs still stand out in a class by themselves.

Is this for your son?

A few yyears ago I sold all my hunting rifles to go to truck diving school. When I started a new collection I got a model70 classic sporter in30,06. Its my favorite cartridge. I am looking to buy another rifle so chamberd (probly a 700) the model 70 06 is simply a great rifle. It will shoot moa with 150 165 or 180 grain loads and, I take it as a back up on nearly every hunt I go on. For deer hunting I prefer my 308s cause they are easier to carry and for elk hunting I prefer a magnum I love my 06 and a in a smaller lighter rifle, it may well beacome my favorite eastern Oregon mule rear cartridge again !                                             ...tj3006

Bojon - He would like it to be for him, but it's really just a toy for his Mom & Dad.

Now that he's been driven in it, though, he'd like to save up and buy one for himself that he can "fix up". There are a few around locally, so if he is intent, it won't be too hard for him to find one. He also likes the early 90's Mustangs 5.0 liter versions.

Here's a pic of another '67 that is currently for sale locally. It's an "all stock" 289, and is so original [60,000 miles] that it qualifies for the special British Columbia "collector" licence plates. Supposed to also be a "one owner" car. I was seriously looking at it before getting the "better" one.

Regards, Marcus.

Hey ty3006 -

If you want to bring the -06's performance up to close to mag, check out federal's line of high energy ammo or hornady's light mags. The light mags are faster, but the federal comes in several premium bullet choices.

the nosler 180 grains come out at just over 2800 for me. That's a pretty hard hitting bullet, and really turns the -06 into a heavy hitter out to close to 400. Regular loads just can't push the 180 grain bullets fast enough to take advantage of the better BC - they're right on the edge. That extra 150 fps really upgrades the performance.
