If you were to have a .45 Colt Winchester 94 angle eject, would you pick a fixed 2.5x, a fixed 4x, or a Leupold VX-1 shotgun scope? Reading that article by Paco Kelly really reminded me how versatile the .45 LC is, and since I already have a revolver in the caliber, and have the necessary reloading equipment, then why not just get a .45 Colt rifle? The performance you can milk out of this  cartridge is incredible. This would be an alternative to the Frontier.

Thanks ahead of time,

Jeff

My eye is shot, so this is not for me today, but I'd get a tang sight.  love them and they are really traditional looking.  I'd like a 44-40 model 92 with octagon. barrel with that tang sight and a nice med white bead. up front.

But if you want a scope, try the Leupold 1-4x.  just a great scope.  On one power it will look better than that scout rig and come up fast, with an unbelievable field of view.  The fact that it is a VX-2 don't worry as it is as strong as hell...I've got over 2000 rounds thru it on my 416 mag, perfect.  I  doubt you would need more than 4x, and then only for shooting an armadillo, groundhog or porcupine at 100 yds!   1x or 2x should be fine for deer at 50 yds.

NH;

I'm in agreement with Bear.  That 1-4X Leupold just makes too much sense to ignore it.
