Looks like Savage finally took a little time and some bucks to put a decent finish and some nice wood on one of it's bolt rifles. Look at the 14/114 American Classic. Maybe these new ones will be better as rifles than "tomato stakes"? BEAR

I had a variation of that model for quite a few years. They bascially have offered that exact same rifle for awhile now with slight variations. I liked it and took several deer but it's still Savage. The stock is walnut but plain. I liked the shape and the checkering was very good for a factory rifle. The fore end tip was black plastic that shows scratches as white. I replaced that asap as well as the shiney remington like finish. It was also a real life moa rifle. After I aquired the Colt in .270 it became expendable and I sold it to help finance the 338-06. I really like it but it was about the same price as Winchester fw. I've never seen one stocked and had to order mine.
