Bought a new barrel for my Auto-Ordnance/Essex Frankenstein 1911 last week. Should have bought a Jarvis, but didn't have $200, so I bought a Numrich/Auto-Ordnace barrel instead. Chamber looked like it was cut with a petrified corncob, rough doesn't begin to describe it! It did clean up with a little work. Fitting was minor, just a little stone and file work. Ended up feeding empty cases, which always makes me feel good. Took it out today, was 100%, and a magazine would stay in a little less than 3 inches at 25 yards. Not great, but ok. Been shooting cast thru the last barrel, might try jacketed, or at least plated bullets.

Trigger;

How much did you open up the chamber getting it cleaned up?  Does it still scratch the brass?  And, most imortant, will brass pass the case guage after full-length resizing?

Hope the answers are:  Not much, no, and yes.
