Looked at a pair of Chippewa ( I think) packers that were gore tex and thinsulate lined. They looked like they would be a good winter riding boot.
The most expensive bullet there is isn't worth a plug nickel if it don't go where its supposed to.

I've ridden in LaCrosse Cheyenne boots before. You have to make sure you have stirrups big enough though. I've also used the Schnee packs without trouble.

Shucks!  I use my Sorels until it's too cold for them--then go to the bunnys.  You will need oversized stirrups or oxbows.  Don't try to force them into regular size steps--you won't get out when you need to most

In warm(er) weather I wear my xtratuffs.

I made some stirrups fro my Bunny boots and they be only boot that WILL keep you warm at really cold temps- i studded mine for traction- have some Schnee's- they say heir good to -20 or so- BS at about 30 you get cold if not moving around- as for LaCrosse some good- i had several prs of Ice man's they gave years back to test when I was mushing in AK- good to -80 MY BUTT! they never wanted me to test again after i told them the rest of the story!

I can't ride comfortably without using a pair of oversize stirrups! If you do a lot of cold weather riding and wear Pac type boots, you should invest in a good set of wide stirrups too. Oh yeah! Now don't forget to change em back to your regular stirrups come warmer weather or you might be slipping that foot and become a drag on a mule or horse.

You can get some Orange ones- plastic- heck send me an address and postage and I'll send you me old ones as i now live in flat country and don't use new horses for hunting much--take care on Schnee's comfortable but no where as warm as their BS Ads say. rnestor@mwt.net
