I spent some time at the range today with my Rem 308.  Same load I've used before and have put 5 shots into 3/4" easily, when I'm shooting good.  Today I was taking mostly 3 shot groups as I didn't have much ammo left from that batch.  (165gr Ballistic Tips and Varget)

I didn't go under 1 and 3/4"s at 100 yards!  I also had a target at 200 yards and took two 5 shot groups, with the best being 4 and 1/8th".  (I did manage to get 3 shots under 7/8" on each group at 200, but the other 2 were way out of the group)

When I got home I decided to check the scope mount screws.  Each one was loose.   I've been shooting this rifle a lot lately and haven't bothered to check the screws, as everything has been fine until now.

I felt like I was doing my part today, but the groups I was seeing made me feel like I should have stayed at home.    Needless to say, I'll be keeping a close eye on the ring screws from now on.

Somebody better call the Secret Service. Let 'em know there's an illegal alien in the White House...and it ain't the cook!!
