I broke down and got the 10mm today. Rock Island 5" barrel. I found out why we reload too. One box of ammo $60 for 50... I ordered some new brass 200 pieces for $60 delivered. We already have dies and lead mold. All in $850 with the ammo, holster, and brass. Edited by d4570 - 10 September 2022 at 14:53 |

I think you are going to like it. Like IBD said, carry it in condition 1 (cocked and locked with 1 in the chamber) and you add one round to the capacity and it's 100% safe to carry.
How many rounds do the magazines hold?

Only 8, they had one that was a "side stacker" gut the grip was way to wide to be comfortable to shoot. I opted for the adjustable rear sight rather then the fixed, I'm already over what I was going to spend a little so what another $80.
I'll get an extra clip and put it in the holster clip pocket. If I don't hit what ever in 9, I probably won't hit it in 15. I may go "Test" it today depending on the wife's LIST of to do things. I found some gas checks I'll order today and start casting next week. I was going to get My GD a 17hmr at the same time but they were out, just sold there last one till spring the day before. Her and I may go to Scheels today, they had one on Friday.

Looks good. Think you made the right decision on the single stack, that is the way she was designed to work originally. You'll have no feed problems.
What rifle are you looking for GD???

Looks like a good choice. I think it is a 93 action, had one shot great.
She is getting big, is the length of pull going to be Ok? I had the same 'package deal scope", it was quite usable, even with my old eyes. Look out PDs, Annie is on the way.

We "tried it on" and it seamed to fit, maybe a smidge to long but she grows more every day.
I went ant tried my 10 . First shot ever with factory set sights. At 30 yards I hit my 8" plate 6 out of 8 times as I was standing. Needs some work.

My B-I-L picked up a Ruger American in 308 today. We ran out to shoot it and I took the 10 to let him try too. He shoots pistols way more then me.
The rifle did not perform like we thought it should, later he took it back, and North 40 backed it 1000%. It turned out the scope was to low and put the scope at a bind. They changed the rings bases and scope free. But the 10... He shot 6 at the gong hitting all 6 at 40 yards then put two in to the target box at 90 yards. Standing off hand, he said he shot directly at the target not over the top. I likey!

Nice. 10mm has kinda become a fan favorite of mine, over the last couple years. Wife would say I went overboard with them, but what can ya do. I think I have the double stack of the one you purchased. They look real similar. I'm a fan of ria, too. Glad you're enjoying it. k

We have worked up a very good shooting load.
155 gr HP hot. I shoot gophers at 50 yards, and targets at 100. Open sights. My 45 colt ruger I use for all 100 yards soon to be deer killer. |

Mine looks a lot like yours. I got the A2 6" Match Tactical. Stainless barrel. Double stack. Gunbroker had it for a good price back in 2020. 16 rounds of 10mm was interesting to me. This one was one of my 6 10mm's that liked the 180 gr xtp. I'm not stretching things out near as far as you guys are. That's some good shooting. kor

I did not care for the DBL stack it made it uncomfortabal in my hand, like holding the wrong end of a baseball bat.
I wanted to use cast bullets but nothing we tried even powder coated shot well. The HPs shoot well with a big load of blue dot. Blue dot makes a VERY impressive muzzle flash even in the day.

Yeah, a double stack 10mm is conducive to a big mitt, that's for sure. Some time back, I had a nice 180 gr load worked up in my iai javelina 10mm using hunters supply's cast bullet. It seemed to shoot well. Well enough anyway that I was going to use it on a hog hunt ... and then I never got to it. Best laid plan that never panned out. Blue Dot is what I used in my 180 xtp loads, too. Nice, versatile powder. kor
