Savage Arms 17HMR FXP Package $349.99

I'm thinking about getting it for her.
It's in stock at Scheels, same price everywhere.
21" barrel and 6 pounds, comes with a scope.
It seems to fit her well, and she likes the look.
What do you think?

Generally Savage shoot great out of the box.

However, 5 years ago I bought a top of the line Savage heavy barrel 93 (same action as the one you are looking at).  It had a beautiful walnut laminated stock with vents and thumbhole.  Target scope and rigid mount system.  Trigger was crisp.

Tried 14 different ammo, not shot well.  was a beautiful dud.

sold it  with the box, booklet,  and lock etc at a gun show.  Lost $50 buck, but good bye poor shooter.

MOST do shoot, but there is never a guarantee...each one will be different.

Got my kidm the Cz in 17HMR with heavy barrel and blue laminate stock, shoots lights out.

But Annie can shoot anything great.

My boys 17 the one she is shooting now is the one with the "Full length wood", and the backward safety. it shoots "Lights out" but is a bit long and heave for her. She likes and shoot my 10/22 very well and loves the auto but the 17 doubles her range. Both of them have a Redfield 3X9.
I'd get two 10 bullet clips, Papa get tired of loading clips. I would get 11 bullet clips if I could just to poke You know who in the eye.

I think that would be a great choice. Like Bear said most Savages shoot great. I bet she'll love it.
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.
