In north central Pennsylvania hunting  bear.  Using 50 cal black powder rifle, thick cover deep woods; really can't see more than 50 yards so BP isn't a handicap.

1st day   walked, stopped glassed, listened.  bright sun cool 56 oF.  windy , 14 mph.  No bears but beautiful leaves.  NO bears seen, nor shot!

tomorrow is another day.Wink

"tomorrow is another day.Wink"

Yes it is...
I hope you find a 600 pounder.
As a mater of fact tomorrow is Kids deer season.
The L-G-D will be in the field before sun up.
Look out deer.
BUT the property we will be hunting also has a "LOT" of bears on it the owner says.
He is encouraging My boy, D-I-L, and myself to carry our bear guns. The little Granddaughter's deer is first priority but then LOOK OUT BEARS.Clap
PS
The owners son trapped a wolf on it last year too.

2nd day  67oF sunny, less wind.

Walked all day, exhausted.

saw zero, few deer rubs.
Hunted last year timber cut, all beech taken out only maple and oak remain.

tomorrow the olde fart season kicks in.  No Bp, can use my260.....doesn't matter if you see nothing.

Seems to me, deer are feeding at night and sleeping in the day.  few hunters to kick them out.  didn't see a hunter all day, about 4 miles slow walk/spot.

tpmorow will be sit on gas line.

day 3    no kill.

great day walked 3 miles then sat for 4 more hours.  No turkey, bear, deer.  260 Kimber was quiet!

Sunny nice 38 in am,   68 in pm.  storm moving in, should hit at 5:30pm.  wind picked up to 30 mh gust.  got two ticks off my neck.

still having fun.

well, shower then dinner....not sure if going to resturant or cook myself on river bank  (Susquehanna)  saw a few ducks down there.

tired feet and thighs!  Bed will feel good.
