The ice is gone and the rainbows have gone into their false spawn mode. Love this time of year. Glow bugs and plastic beads are the temptation of choice for them. Here are a few I was lucky enough to catch after work yesterday evening.

Hefty bugger.

Kind'a long and a little on the skinny side, but put up a good fight.

Defiant all the way around.

Another feisty one!

By false spawning you mean there planted trout Right?
The same thing happens on Holter revivor here near wolf creek.
They come back to the boat ramp where they where dumped in.
Now they stock them from boats in the middle of the lake to help mitigate the carnage on the bank.
Very nice fish, do you eat them or dump them back in?
I don't eat trout, but I have heard there soft when they do this.

Any lake where they cannot spawn would create a false spawn situation. I do not care to eat rainbow trout at all and release all of them.

Thankfully there aren't currently any mussles in there, but it could happen as those stupid things seem to find their way into about every where sooner or later.

Had them 15 years ago in the large inland` lake at my camp.  told by F&G that boats from Great lakes brought them in.  tey layers my dock.

15 years later, they had eaten lots of algea, no food,  gone.  zero today.
