We had 7+" new SNOW Wed-Thur morning. Used my 10hp Ariens snowblower for the cleanup. Dun in about 2 1/2 hrs. Tidied up with plow on atv and good to go. Was -4* too with lite wind from N. Brrrrr. Never had a headlight go out on the Ariens & it's about 20+ yrs old. Great Machine. Never needed chains either in any kind of snow conditions.

First machine was a 10 hp Wheel Horse, lasted 35+ years. the Ariens is 10 hp and about 20. Only problem is wheels have rusted to the shaft after just 5 years, dealer couldn't even fix it, so a little tough to steer. But good overall. no chains either.

Mine has no head light and I never put chains on it. But it doesn't throw very far anymore.

I'm with D.
I have a snow blower but I don't use it unless the snow is pretty deep. I definatly don't move snow in the dark. If it gets dark I figire it'll keep until morning. I upgraded my aluminum scoop shovel to one of the new fangled plastic ones. I'm not sure if it's lighter or smaller but it seems like it's easier to throw a full scoop of snow with it. Wing master
