As Scarlet said "Tomorrow is another day".
weather is to be 34oF with 60% chance of winter mix snow/rain. So I'll walk in late about sunrise and still hunt for deer and bear. Once I get over 150 yards, I don't shoot, can't drag. So with luck, I'll have a great day in beautiful woods. Like to take my single shot 30-40 for a walk, but my M! carbine was crying today. Shoveled the sluge off my deck tonight, now making a martini and getting some maple logs for a fire.

Tried to hide on the north face of a wash today. The wind would not cooperate. West, then east, then south, back to west and east, repeat. Snow like hell, sun comes out and it melts.....snow again, melt, repeat. Not a bird nor ground squirrel. Tomorrow....

Hunted from sunrise till 12 noon...rain snow then. Back at cabin for lunch, and get some dry firewood in for a fire tonight.
Radar shows rain/snow to stop in 30 minutes, 2 pm, so I'm going back. I figure that any deer would be laying down, keeping warm. But after 2 weekend days of being chased, they might be hungry and move around when the storm moves off. So back out I go.

snow, rain sleet off and on all day. Rifle enjoyed getting a walk. very little wind. didn't see a hunter all day.
Today will try all day, forcast is 5-10%, temp 34 oF. would at least like to SEE a black bear. couldn't get one out of forest, so it would just be a kick to see a nice bear.

Jsgbearpaws....
Where are you? I thought that a "Wash" was a Southwestern term. I assume thay you meant a normally dry streambead/drainage when you used the term |

Fresh water springs finger feed/trickle feed sometimes nearly dry beds. Shallow cuts about 15-20' deep, lined with 100' hemlocks and old growth hardwoods. They are kinda laid out like a rolling washboard through the flats of the SGL next door. Occasionally broken up by a deep cut with a running body of water, cuts are 50-250' deep, rock outcrops and laurels. Old growth closer to the tops. Probably picked it up while out there, but it fits.
PA, couple hours south of Bear. Sent Wing some pics of the one I was perched on the other day. Good set, fields about 500-800 yards away in either direction and that overgrown farm forty that I bird hunt in, lotsa apples and thornapples. Not to mention the orchard at my moms across the way. Berries and grapes, bears love em as well as the persimmons. Makes for very decent habitat.
