Like CB's sling, those are for shooting, aka military style.  Never got the hang of them, but did use a cuff style sling for shooting.

But, I was just curious as to what sling you use for a CARRY_SLING when hunting?

Only one I use is a Claw sling in Camo, black or brown depending on the gun it is on.
It will grip to your clothing and not slip off your shoulder .
The leather ones slip, the rubber one bounce up and down driving me nuts.

D,
After I saw a CLAW sling that you had at MYGAWDS a couple of years back I went out and bought 4 of them.  They work great.

agree that tbe Claw sling really hangs on the shoulder. Not a shooting sling.

do you think that The Claw gets dried out and a little light sandpaper will improve it?

Dry out? Dust?....I can’t wrap my head around that. Claws are good and so is the Hogue strap. Web strap has its use and benefits, trade off is they slip around and an be uncomfortable.
...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

I have one I bought at Walmart of all places and I love it. It's sorta the best of both worlds. It carries good and it is fast adjusting for a shooting sling.
I have no idea who made it and if I found another one like it I would get it for another rifle.

Sorry, Not much help.
