Bear, Seems that everything hunting/shooting is either on back order and/or out of stock with no back order. When trying to order a Holosun red dot sight earlier this week nearly everyone indicated a back order and a wait of 4-7 weeks, or more.

Same thing here Lizard. Except for bullets, I can live 6 months with stock I have.
But I like to buy scopes, clips, etc, when on sale. I quit buying bullets on sale unless they are my specific ones. I don't get caught in the spin that some new fangled bullet or power craz is needed. I've had this 10-22 for years, it was my MYGAWDS rifle, Blondie, and the trigger always Su6ked big time. But I had learned to use it and scored well on gophers, tree rats, and targets. But I replaced it with a CZ bolt 452FS with a great trigger. A friend asked me what he needed to shoot squirrels off his deer feeder. I offered to loan him my 10-22, but he just bought one for $207. He loves it but said the trigger is terrible, tipical 10-22. I agreed, so I'm buying one for him and me (Iowe him a favor). Seems ruger besides making a fortune on the BX, they wanted to have a quick indicator of changed triggers, so they started making them with a red aluminum coated trigger...hence the "RX-Red". Blacks are all gone, out of stock. found only one place with a Red in stock. Natchez.

Gang, check out Connecticut Precision. http://www.ct-precision.com/ruger10-22.html
I had them do the trigger on my 10/22 years ago and love it. 788

I have a BX Trigger in my 10-22. It's better than the original trigger but it's not great.
I think it was worth the money. Mostly because the original sucked so bad. Wing master

Came back with a great trigger job, a new match chambered barrel, a new extractor and a recoil buffer. I use to compete with that rifle. Never got beat by another 10/22. |

Bought two BX_Red triggers.
Put one in my 10-22 (another for buddy). Trigger pull is great, just a little creep. might work on that with a plastic shim. Will put buddies in when he gets back from camp, and brings his rifle back. Two thoughts for review of this RX trigger: 1) it is pure drop in, takes 5 minutes, need screwdriver to remove stock and a small punch. 2) as Wing said "Better than the original, but not great". Cost, this was a fraction of the cost of quality trigger replacements ($140 and up) and required no fitting..

Bear, talking 10/22's, have you ever tried yours with the Aquila SSS 60gr ammo? I'm wondering about feeding, cycling, and stabilizing the bullets--twist rate. I've always had bolt actions--old Winchesters and Remingtons--and been happy with their triggers, but the Winchester keyholed the SSS; the Remington shoots 'em fine. I've been thinking I'd like a Ruger, but I'm kind of addicted to the better short-range thump, now that I'm not so accurate at longer shots (getting old). If I can get past the barrel twist, I'll spring for the trigger upgrade.

Windy, I wanted some quiet sub-sonic ammo. So figuring a heavier bullet means slower velocity but still have some kenetic energy. And that is right.
So that mentality lead me to Aquila SSS 60gr ammo. Unfortunately, I still need pinpoint accuracy. And the Aquila SSS 60gr ammo did not shoot well in my 4 22 LR rifles. I suspect I'd need different twist rate. Out of 34 different ammo tests, my 10-22 shoots CCI Blazer the best....got lucky as Blazer is cheap ammo.

Shucks! Oh, well, I was runnin' out of places to keep 'em anyway. Guess I better just keep the Daisy Red Ryder up agin the back porch wall, and just pester them coons and possums away from Mama's garden, instead of killin' them. Ain't had one of them critters turn on me yet when I popped him in the backside with a BB.
