Just got my second cataract removed yesterday, AND I CAN SEE MY SIGHTS again; I was afraid I'd be condemned to shoot only rifles with scopes.  It'll be a few days (recoil, you know) before I can actually start shooting, but the front sights are clear on my Martinis and leverguns, the rear sights on the 310 Cadet and the 32 Special trapper are clear as they were 20 years ago, and I can even see the tiny little notches in the rear sights of the drilling and the Brno.  I talked to my eye surgeon ahead of time about the choice between going for 20/20 or settling for less by leaning toward sight picture; still wasn't sure until the left eye healed (my off eye) and I satisfied myself by looking downrange left-handed with a couple of the trickier guns, and then gave the eye doc the go-ahead on the full 20/20 lens.  I haven't been correctable to 20/20 for several years--betcha I see more game to shoot at, too.  I'm no pistolero, so I don't know how this'll affect my handgun scores, but I don't compete with those anymore--can't advise anybody there, but I can see both sights and the target when I'm using my regular two-handed hold.
