Remington model 783

In the last 8-10 years all most new rifles have been ‘inexpensive types”.  I’ve shot many of them.  But in local gun shop a couldn’t pass 7 mag showed up, $250 out the door with camo stock.

The 873 is sort of the Edsel of the gun world.  Seems Remington designers asked shooters what they wanted.  Things like syn stock, cylindrical action great double pull trigger, 2 position safety, barrel bushing, detachable box magazine, metal latch, accurate barrel,  etc  so that is what they built.  Seems like an Edsel, now drivers just don’t know what to think.

Anyone shot these?  What was accuracy like?

I haven't seen one in person, but I have seen Remington 700's at Walmart for around $350.00.

I'm thinking that for another $100 you can get aftermarket triggers, stocks etc. for the 700. And the 700 is a proven design that has a reputation for accuracy.

Just my thoughts.
