By now most of you know about my junkyard 6mm rem mag.
I built it from scraps and army surplus. Worked two loads one for 55 gr Ballistic tips and 80 gr ttsx Barnes bullets and get OUTSTANDING performance and outlandish speeds. An absolute laser beam to well over 400 yards.
WELL....
I was out sighting in my 8mm rem mag today in 20* and 20 mph winds.
I STILL would like to pillar bed this gun, but so far it looks good.
For what ever reason our Magnetospeed would not pick up the bullets today and there OLD factory 220 gr rem loads.
The dead mule is doing it's job by the way Our 35 Whelen kicks harder then the 8.
The Burris 4 1/2 by 14 worked out very well to.
I shot 30 rounds with no pain shooting mostly prone some off the sticks.
I put the zero at 240 yards In the wind I was getting about 2 to 3 inch groups dead nuts.
At 100 it's way better and 1 3/4" to 2" high.
I'm thinking with some load work I can do much better.
I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

Now all you need is a 500 yard shot at a 500 pound black bear.
