Thinking I might want to get back into camping.

For 40 years I had a great canvas 9x9 tent. It had an aluminum externaal frame the kind that were in fashion 40 yeaars ago.  think mine was a Wentzle???

It had room for two army cots and still had 6'+ stand-up in the middle (no center pole).

I'd really like to get the same size/style.  I hate those elastic corded arrow-shafts models.

I could live without the canvas-cotton; but want an exterior frame.

anyone know of such today????

Just about any wall tent would do the trick. Most of them you can get internal or external frames. Here are a couple of companies that I have worked with and are very good to deal with. You can order the tent any way your want it.

popped the plastic card and got a Kodial canvas 10x10.

6 night in Wyoming 4 nights in central Pennsylvania mountains.  Rained all but 3 nights out of 10.  Bone dry.  Very comfortable, can stand up and move around.  very comfortable for 2 people, roomy with just one.

got ground cloth, extra windows, carpeting.  ordering fly, too many birds taking shots at it.

Looks good.
I'm just not a tent guy anymore.
There great for extended stays. Anything 2 nights or less I'll suburban camp in my "Flatted" topper.

It takes me an hour, by myself to set up.  breaking camp takes a little longer 1.5 hrs,  taking out tent stakes is slow for my.

your 2 day rule is ok.  I use the same rule, but it is one day.

That's a great tent. I was very impressed.

I was thinking about replacing mine with one like it but when I got home this year I set it up in the back yard and sprayed it down with a mixture of bleach and water. It had some mildew and a lot of stains from years of use.

It looks better than it has since I've had it. Not exactly like new but pretty close.

I'm thinking I'll have it for years to come. (I hope)
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

good cotton canvas lasts a long time.

I think wind flexing doe the most damage.

Tepee style tents are nice too. had one for a while to try them out. best part is the "no center" pole.

Yep no center pole.  good, but lately, I've used the center pole in tents to get my morning balance.

Wake up walk/movements gets dizzy.
