First off thanks for all that came and added there expertise, experience and resources.
A special thanks to RobertMT For all he did, set up camp, feed us cleaned up camp, wonderful person for sure.
Weather !
The Montana unknown.
Right now ( Sunday) I'm looking out my window. 50 MPH west wind, 25*, sideways snow ground is all white, YUK.
Bear slipped in early and Wednesday he and I did some coyote calling.
Mid April and first part of May is the hardest time of year to call in coyotes. We did not even see a road dog let alone have one come in to play... The weather did cooperate after the chilly start with rain and some hail then sunny and light winds.
Thursday was a very early start 3 am. RobertMT drove in to our Prairie dog grounds the day before and set camp, he had wind rain and some snow on his trip across the " Highline". Two hour ride in the dark, deer infested road to shooting grounds . I did find out a f150 windshield will with stand a full frontal impact of a HUGE owl at 69 mph. Robert had SOS hot coffee and a dry place to stand when we got there.
I knew of several "Towns" in the area but one was very close and only a short walk off the road, that's where we headed. It started out slow but as the sun light up the ground and the temps came up so did the PD's. Some 100 yards shot but most were the normal 200 to 400 yard shot. Shot till noon and back to camp for "Bunny
burritos ". After lunch we hit them again hard. No Idea about the number of dead but you had to look very close to see if you where shooting a live target or a dead one.
I counted my brass from the 6mm and it was 115 empty ones. I hope I was hitting like 1 in 4 ????
Some pics.

The trip home for most of us was simple.
Poor Robert lost a wheel on the cook trailer and it occupied him for the next day .
Friday was cold windy and cloudy. We tried some gophers closer to Great Falls , very slow to say it kindly.
I had my little Granddaughter with the group , she got some shooting mostly at water bottles and mud clods . But she was happy.
I wanted her to try and shoot a 7.62x39 I think she will use for deer this year.
We found a good spot I pot a "Girl Scout Cookie" box out at 50 yards and let here try.
First ever shots and all three went in to the box...
Pics.

Saturday
IBD and LIZARD headed off to the other side of the state to other obligations.
Steve had a track meet he had to help with and MY GD had places to be also.
So down to 5 of us and the gophers.
Slow again as the weather was crap again but we did squeak out a few targets other then plastic and dirt. Back to town for Burgers and the gun show.
THEN today?????

still a full winter blizzard, I'm thinking the shooting is over for this years shoot.

I'd post a pic of the back porch at the ranch, but the file size is too large & I don't have time to mess with it right this minute. But there's more snow covering it in the 12 hours of the 'Great April Blizzard of 2019' than all of the rest of winter combined. Nearly 4 feet. I came in to town mid morning to keep Bear company and the road east to Lewistown had been closed already, I suspect 89 from the ranch to Armington closed minutes after I turned off of it. Going home I got stuck 3 times on 427 which had also been closed. 2 self extractions, had to get the tractor with the 7' wide 3' tall snowblower for the last extraction, though.

An unusual weather for MYGAWDS but the usual great friendship.  thanks to all that made it great.  Nice to have friends in GF area.  Had chaufers and quality guides with Dale, Greg, and tom.

Shooting was limited just a few stupid gophers.  But D4570s 'plan B"   for PDs  was good.

Between great resturants and D's burritos, Robert's SOS, Loris Chile and the Celtic guy  I gained 4+ pounds......back to the gym.

Got to see CB's eyecandy  rifle again, and   actually made it to the gun show for 3 days only buying a 'MAGA' hat!!!

After 8 shots to figure  the range and wind ( plus a good chunk of luck) I got a PD at 600+ range with the triple duce.  Prior best with the 222 rem  was 400 yds.

Even got an invite to a birthday party this evening!  nice GF folks.

Flying home tomorrow morning, so I can reload for MYGAWDS 2020.

Thanks CB

It sounds like a great time was had by all. Except the part where Garou had to dig himself out of the snow.

I really wish I could have been there.

…..so what I'm hearing is.....none of you brought a big enough gun to shoot through four feet of snow?

I take it this means the after meet fishing is a wash?

Just jealous I didn't make it.

D? My question is the most important one I can ask about the GD and her shooting skills and proper tutelage. I'm sure that in all the fuss about proper gun safety and handling, care, caution etc. and the bountiful wealth of life lessons to be had from outdoor sports and fellowship with family, friends and other like minded advocates. She did the sport proud and not only terminated her target, but shared it's bounty with others as well for such help and influence?

….well they were thin mints!
