I'm looking for a nice 1911 long slide for a donor. Goin for the 460 Rowland.....Always something right. As much as I hate being around large groups and shopping, that goes out the window with guns and tools. Hope I never figure that one out.

Grices, close to you, has some sales.

ATI 1911  45 with a 5"slide= $399
Remington 1911 45 5" = $449.

Seems used 1911 are selling for more than new ones.

Didn't really want to go with a five incher but a used long slide is a grand or more these days. Custom slide, bushing and tube on a newer one is same ballpark. To get the best of the cartridge though the longer the barrel the better. To get a 250 RN HC to over 1600 fps will require the compensated 7 1/4" barrel for the long slide and a 28 lb spring in both the tube and main with a flat trigger stop. Bit awkward but necessary.

the  460 Rowland isn't my cup of tea...nor is the 1911.

But I think the remington is the pistol used by rowland for their 'converstion' conversion.  really just a lot higher pressure 45.

They're not cheap.  This one was from eBay this morning. If you have a lower to work with.

Good luck.  Keep us posted.  788

That one is a Clark and all the vlogs are saying to stay clear of the Clark made 460's. Rowland has them reasonable enough to just get one from them and they make them specific for each manufacturer and type. Seems the only ones I have found are old AMT Hardball, or 10mm...the tens won't take it...:-(
