As most know, I'm a sit all day deer hunter.  usually in heavy woods with cold, snow, wind, rain.

This year I spent 22 days (we can't hunt sundays) in dec and january in a cold ground blind.

Season is over now, BUT I just bought a small heater, Little Buddy.  A quick test then it got put away with blind materials, etc for next year.  seems to work great, but can't make coffee nor heat a sandwich on it!

hope I can remember where I put it next winter.

That looks like a good choice. Is it lightweight?

The tank weight about 2# and the heater weights about another 2+.

not backpack weight, but worth carrying 1 mile in for aa 3 day 8hrs/day hunt.

Have you thought about 2 lbs. of Carolina Reapers? Just use them as your snack and when you start to feel a chill coming on. 2 birds one stone.
...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

Gotta think of positioning your blind down wind also, cause and effect issues.

Biggest downside is it attracts coastal browns and grizzlies hungry for stupid guides and hippy hikers.

got an adapter today.  it lets me fill the 1# tanks from my gas grill bottle.

seems good except I have to upset the tank of the grill to fill with liquid.  a little PITA.

It will only fill about half full.
When the PSI match it will stop filling.
SO I think you'll need a full , filler tank.
We have never had much luck filling them.

If you're going to refill them, please be careful. Besides the plastic relief plug leaking, it can blow out. Dad used to refill them, after having tank catch on fire, (from leaking plug) while BBQ on portable grill and me dunking BBQ in lake to put it out, Mom made him stop doing it.

Since you can buy them for 2 for $5 or less and you only get half fill, you only save about $1 each time.

They make a refillable tank, that has better/safer relief plug. You can get them on amazon too. Freezing small tank first, helps get fuller fill, with either style of tank. I don't really think it's worth, the small savings though. You have to refill, 15 to 20 cylinders, to recover cost of adaptor.

A large wheeled deer cart and a 100 lb tank once a year may be the cure. Just pay a local kid 5 bucks to push the cart in every year, too big for it to be stolen easily. Maybe a nice camo wrap for disguising it against a tree close to your blind.

One of these would probably work. https://smile.amazon.com/Flame-King-YSN5LB-Propane-Cylinder/dp/B077BLDL7T
15lbs full, 10lbs empty, most likely last a week. Chain it to tree and it's unlikely it'd wander off.
