Formed 200 new   30 Herret cases this week.  Basically,  a 30-30 with the shoulder moved back  about ˝ inch and that amount removed.

Thought I’d try an experiment in case lubes…doing 100 with Hornady One Shot and 100 with Imperial Lube wax.

In summary little difference in one product to another.  Pressure to form were similar, brass produced were similar.  The One-Shot shored higher in:  it is faster, also easy to lube the inside neck, and little clean up of cases or dies.

Just one man’s thoughts

Which one shot? They have the old style(black can, black lid), Case Lube & gun cleaner(black can, red lid), HD-Extreme (grey can, black lid), and plain case lube(red can, black lid). Along with their Unique and wax in tubs, liquid pad lube.

Most of the bad reviews, of One Shot spray lube(glue), are of black or grey can. They all are slightly different product, the black cans can work, if you let them dry, before sizing. To me Red can, seems more like Lanolin & Alcohol (Dillon type), than the others.

Red can.  been using it since it first came out.  started using it after using pad and motor oil for 20 years, so much cleaner.

I have been using Hornady one shot in the red can.
In the past I have used the Dillon case lube in the pump sprayer. I liked the Dillon lube better but no one locally has it. So, I'm back to using One Shot.

Lately been using a Hornady branded hard "wax" type lube (kinda like Imperial Die Wax I think) and it is a super product. Do have to wipe it off cases tho. Have used spray can lubes by Hornady too, red can. Most anything beats the old lubed pad roll 'em around then wipe sticky lube off.....

I'm with you IBD.  I used 10W30 for years on an un-inked pad.  worked perfectly, but you needed to wipe each case after sizing.

So since Horndady came out with One-Shot spray (red can) I've switched to that.  Works perfectly, just need to let it dry for 15 seconds.  no oil dents.

Funny thing, once you get a system it is tough to change, I still wipe each case as I take it out of the size die!
