After MYGAWDS I float fished the Mosouri from Holtan Dam down to Craig.  Excelent trip.  Gin (vodka) clear water until Little PrickyPear creek dumped in some mud.

Caught 30+ fist mostly bows, some cutbows and 2 whitefish.  All big bows, 22+ inches, very fat.  Weather perfect, saw lots of eagles and one bighorn.

Guide Geof Ferguson, excellent.

Might make it an annual event.

beautiful float.  could have been better in a wind-cat.

current was fast, would have caught more if the drift was slower.

Used Sow bug and pink shrimp  on dropper.  would like to try dry flies  in june for some top wayer fishing.  A Bear isn't a fly fisherman; but loved it.

We probably only caught 1/3 of the ones we got a hit on.  So I figure over a 100 good trout hits.  Large hooks might have helped!

If you want to catch bigger fish, use bigger hooks.

That's coming from a guy that only fishes once every 2 or 3 years.

My calender seems to show I've fished 42 days so far this year.  But we did have some ice and I was sick for 3 weeks...so it is down from my annual fishing days.  this year I have already bought  fishing licenses in Florida, pennsylvania, New york, Montana...DC has free fishing for seniors.

Larger hooks like tying a size 14 flybody onto a thin shanked size 12 hook will give better hook up on large fish.  One of my old fly tie' in tricks!

Baiting it is a bugger, but when you catch something with it, it's enough fish to only need too fish every few years.

...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!
