Hey Garou,

Could you remind me again what your Swede load is. It's finally warming up here and I'm planning on getting mine out and working on a load for it.

Thanks

I realize it's not the most popular cartridge here, but if any of the rest of you have a load that you like for 6.5x55 I would appreciate you letting me know what it is.

Need to start with what weight bullet do you like.

I've done 140, 129 and for the last 3 years 123 gr SST Hornady....5 BC.

For my Rem 700 it's Win brass, CCI 200, Berger 140gr VLD Hunter seated at .010 off the lands, pushed by 44.4gr of Vihtavuori N-160.

For my CZ550 full stock, it doesn't like the Berger VLD & I haven't developed anything else. I'm planning to play with Hornadys' 143gr ELD-X next.

Thanks guys.

So far i'm planning on using 140 grain (or there abouts) So far I have tried 140 grain Nosler Accubonds and 142 grain Accubond long range. I have tried IMR 4350 and Reloader 22.

I still want to try some other powders and lighter bullets.

Sunday morning I finally got a good group with the Accubond Long Range bullets and Reloader 22.

If I can repeat it, That might be a starting point. I'll mess with seating depth next.

I had just received a 1994 Remington 700 Classic in 6.5x55 Swede for my 16th birthday in '95. With the guidance of CB900F, load development began. I found a very acceptable load in accuracy and performance with the Nosler 120gr Ballistic Tip. At that time a 100 count box ran around 20 bucks. By the time that box expired and I went looking for more boolits, Nosler had pulled off its marketing swindle of we no brains consumers... that is, they kept the price the same and cut the quantity in half for a box of boolits.

Ever since, I've boycotted Nosler with the single exception of the manuals. Because the mo data ya got playing with explosions, the mo informed decisions ya can make, the mo safe ya apt ta be.

When I find my misplaced load book for it, I'll post the 120gr load. I'm pretty sure everything is the same as my 140gr Berger load with the powder charge weight being the only variant, but it's been 15-18 years since I've used it so don't quote me on that.

In mine I have always used 140 Hornady and a full charge of H414. It has performed perfectly with that load.
