The 17 WSM seems dead.  If you don't remember Winchester brought  the 17 Winchester Super magnum to life in 2012.  since then only a few rifles have been made, savage B-Mag.

Never seen one on a gun store rack, but a few are still being sold on line.

Seems I remember that the cartridge was made from a Win nail gun case, so it is not compatible with existing rimfire rifles.

Anyone here use one?  want one?

I shot one once and I liked it.Big smile
I HATE the looks of the savage never got one.Dead
I think they "shot them selves in the foot" by keeping it so limited to just ,for a LOOONG time , savage.Confused
Did the same thing with the 17 Remington center fire, think that is what it was called. They kept the load stuff off the market and you could only buy factory ammo if you wanted the speed that clamed, now bout dead too.Sleepy
I think the 17 Hornet is about the only 17 worth messing with.Wink

I waited several years after 17 HMR came out, before getting one, partly because of ammo cost, with 22lr going up and 17hmr coming down, it's better deal now.

I've shot 17 fireball in an xp and it's lots of fun. 221 fireball isn't near as much challenge. Either would be fun in mini-mauser rifle.
