Do any of you know anything about Sig Sauer optics?
Camofire.com has been having them at around 50% off quite a bit lately. If they are good quality, the prices look pretty good. Wing master

Two thoughts. SIG does NOT make optics. So they are just renting out their name.
Some of the optics seem to be made for i-Tac a New Hampshire company very close to the Sig-usa building..made in China by a chinesse company...name unknown. Some of the scopes seem say on the box "made in china' others say assembled in Phillipines" go figure!! I don't buy of a brand that doesn't make its own product, they change maker and quality all the time. Real manufacturer is usually the low cost supplier. Like buying Browning stuff. Or Weatherby clothing, ammo, Vanguard, etc.

Good points Bear. I have a couple Vortex scopes and really like them. I'm not sure that they make their own lower end scopes like the ones I have, but they warranty them. I have used their warranty twice.
I have read that Leupold doesn't make their own glass but they manufacture everything else. I have been using Leupold scopes for over 25 years. I have never used their warranty. To me that says a lot. I guess I will pass on Sig Sauer scopes. I can't argue with the success I have had with Leupold. Wing master

I have always like Burris best ,but my son talked me into a Vortex . Haven't bought a Burris for awhile now. One thing here that I notice right off the bat with the Vortex is how well they work in the big thick stuff ,they are so clear and sharp, really easy for me to pick things out. If this Zeiss Conquest don't work out next trip to the range, it may lose it's place to a Vortex and wind up on EBay .

Tikka,
I agree on Burris. I have had a couple of the old Fulfield scopes. They were good scopes, but the prices were about the same as a Veri-XII at that time. As I understand it that is about the same as a VX1 in the new models. I liked the Leupold a little better. I have compared Vortex side by side with a similar quality Leupold. I thought the Vortex was brighter. Not necessarily clearer but definatly brighter. Wing master

Have a Burris elite on my 7mm...it was in the safe....works fine though the clarity is by no means close to Nikons. My boy just put a new Monarch on his model 70 and dear lord is it amazing! Good warranty on them, though I have never heard of anyone having to use it.
