Seems like I'm hunting trapping, fishinh more and more by my self.

I use a GPS, but many folks do not.

BUT even if you do not use a GPS it is a good idea to give someone your GPS co-ordinates to where you intend to be.  If I don't show up for some time, I like to know that my friends (police) could find me with their GPS.

Simple to do even if you don't have a GPS:

Go to google maps, and locate your stand/camp/hunting spot (s).
Merely click on a spot in neverland and if it isn't a tavern! the long/lat will come on screen for the GPS co-ordinates.  Leave with wife/kids/ neighbor etc.    Sort of like a pilots flight plan.  Sure we know some pilots (with double d initials) that just follow interstate highways!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big smile

Some GPS's will talk with other GPS's.
You can "SEE" your partner on your screen.
Even your wife at home could keep track of you...Confused

Great idea Bear. I hunt alone quite a bit and you never know what could happen.

I'll start doing that. Except I don't hunt from one place, but I can give her the general area that I will be in.

A good starting point isthe trail head where you park your car.  then a few areas where you often hunt.

Gives search and rescue a starting place.

"Even your wife at home could keep track of you."  that is scary!!!!  even my wife??????

People don't realize that smart phones are set to track your every movement--24-7.   without your knowing/consenting to it.  Anyone in government/police can pull that infor up (maybe not supose to, but it is easy done..everyday.
