Sort of interesting, most industrial countries, (EXCEPT USA),   have severly restricted gun ownership.

So thinking about Japan and Europe countries, these countries make rifles/firearrms mostly for the export market.  Hunting and target shooting is strictly for the very wealthy in Japan and Europe.

CZ, Tikka, Sako, Berretta, Walther,  etc  all sell more guns in thee US than anywhere else!!

Maybe those companies, that live off the US dollar/shooters, need to contribute to the NRA?

Secondly, in German (home of supposed high end firearms)  most gun shops have more Mossberg  and Savage than European made guns?  cheap?

Probably the average working person, in Germany, can't afford their high end products? Their mfg regulations and taxes are probably so numerous, they can only afford to build high end products. It would be interesting, to see how firearm purchases, play out in areas of Europe, like Spain, Croatia, and others, that produce the lower cost firearms.

As far as mfg and importers donations, to NRA, I'm sure they belong to and contribute though both NSSF ( https://www.nssf.org/ ) and NRA.

Interesting thought.

I thought Germany had really strict gun laws?

To me foreign rifles are way over priced.  foreign pistols seem more reasonable; both compared to US products.
