I finally got to ring out the new Smith 986.  It's a Performance Center gun, 5" barrel in 9X19 with a titanium cylinder.  The 7 shot was a bit funky getting used to.

Reading some stuff before I picked it up talked a lot about titanium cylinders being "sticky", not making it easy to eject the full moon clips.  I can attest to this.  Back in the day, I shot one season of steel plates with a 9mm 1911 and worked up a load that performed pretty well.  They were a bit warm and in this gun nearly impossible to get out.  I didn't have this problem with factory stuff, so I put together some hand loads in the same vein.  They worked just fine.

It's been a lot of fun to shoot.  I like to full moon clips.  My old eyes won't let me do anything more than plinking with irons so an accuracy test will have to wait until I put optics on it.

I can't seem to get the jpg to upload so no pic right now. I'll try again when I have more time.
