Have Keen low top hikers. Have Keen open sandal things. Live in them. Best shoes ever. They make them with lots of room in the toe-box, which makes them great for -- just about anything.
The reason for the 2nd Amendment is so that we can keep all the others.

900f,

I'm not sure if they have have different models or not,
but they have Kenetrek boots on Camofire.com for 40% to
60% off pretty regularly.

If you never have been to camofire it is a different kind
of web site. They change their offerings every few hours.
I have seen some pretty good deals there.

Bear, I never have tried Keen boots, but have looked at
them several times. If you try them let us know what you
think.

I have 2 pairs of Keens...and they don't even come in my size (wide).

The sandals...haven't had em that long, but they are comfortable (BTW, not sure where they are at the moment).

I have a pair of shoes. I know that I was wearing them to work....office job, retired 4 years ago. They have since change the sole design (maybe the soles were to durable).

So, I am sold on them.

Tried a pair on at Sheels in Great Falls. yep they have
changed the in-sole to a smooth plastic/soft liner.
Insulation looks to be foam.

Still a lot of money.

My wife uses Keen low top shoes for walking and light hiking.
She swears by them. I have keen sandals and they are the
best outdoor sandal I have used. They have been soaked in
salt water they dont get stinky and they hold up. big rubber
toe box keeps me from stubbing toes on rocks.
There's a village in Kenya that's looking for their idiot...
