At some point I Have to paint the bug. It is mostly aluminum , but some steel, and a bit of wood. The Cat bottoms will be coated in GaterGlide slick paint, it has it's own primer. Can I spray the same Primer on all the rest of it? I'm planning on using some kind of "Implement" enamel in a light flat gray.( I'll hand paint camo ) I have an old style air sprayer , canister on the bottom. What would be a good EASY primer/paint? I'm not painter. D Edited by d4570 |

To get the paint to hold you need to etch it with a mild
acid or the paint will chip off easy. Also remember that AL is thin and will flex, think latex if you want to stay camouflaged. I bought an acid etch made for painting aluminum screen door. |
