So how many 16" naval rifle shells would it take to dig/blast a well say 300 feet deep? I may have to something like this in the relatively near future. 900F |

Couple dozen of the piercing ones, pinpointed from altitude and high velocity should make the hole...and a few of the high explosive ones would frak the well, well enough to drain the Missouri river from your end of the state. Which would be a good thing as it would filter the mucky water out on it's way to your well.

I'd not try that anywhere near an existing well, as a
cheap second system. good bye existing well! |

However.... drop one in a field of little nervous holed up doggy colonies, the impact would pop them out like little whack-a-moles. Have to take skeet type shots.

I think you may be over thinking the well CB.
After dismantling the shells, weld the tubes end to end and slowly line your current well to approximately 5 feet short of your saturation line. Fill and cap off a 10 foot length of well case filled with the ordinance gel and probably 10 mining caps, lower to center of saturation line. Tack weld a plate cap to the top of you new over sized well case. Mount a go pro with gps downloadable video. Capture live Montana Gopher, Duct-tape gopher and fishbowl onto gophers head to the well cap. Run like hell and detonate charge. 1) First Montana gopher actually blasted to space for real, video to prove it! 2)Well has been fract' beyond what drillers are capable. 3)USGS freaks out because Yellowstone may now erupt! 4) BATF gives you daily colonoscopy. 5) Gish and Fame make you and me the new poster children 6) PETA puts up billboards of you and I with fishbowls on our heads and spray us with fire hoses regularly......I'm sure I left something out......Oh yeah! Dead dog makes a long range coyote gun to shoot the leftover projectiles. System works well though the recoil from shots fired in WY, lands him in Kansas. |

Nah, my current well is 14 feet deep. Year round never fail water documented for well over a hundred years now. But, there may be a gummint provision about water that indicates we may now be subject to mandetory testing. Should the well water fail the test, I'm sure I'd have some Federal Tax Supported A$$hole demanding I either drill a new well or no longer live on my property. The neighbor's had to drill a new well about 10 years ago (for other reasons) & that's less than half a mile from my well. They had to go over 300 feet deep & it cost well over $15,000.00. I'm sure it'd be quite a bit more today. I'm also sure that the gummint inspector would tell me that he, she, or it, didn't need a warrant to come onto my property, inspect the well & take a water sample, all without my permission. I disagree, but outside of shooting the interfering a$$holes, whattaya gonna do? 900F |

My well is 23 foot deep. 5 houses close to me are 100+.
My water is gin (vodka) clear, neighbors all have filters and water is cloudy with a slight sulfur taste. I take water samples each year, check for bacteria. cost to check for chemicals cost $500+. |

I'm the only guy on this hill, no farms above me just old growth and some logged off. Sweet and clean at 280 ft. CB your getting the pineapple in the kiester treatment at 15k for a well! These parts it's 2500-3k for the well to 100feet, 1k every hundred thereafter. Includes casing and pump.
53 bucks a year for water testing, usuals hardness and bacteria counts. Heavy metals and chemicals 180-260, depending on how in depth you wanna go. I use Mt. Research in Tuna town Bear, they might travel up as far as you if you ask nice. |

Bear, Blair county does that here too. Check is only for 3 types of common bacteria and doesn't even check for giardia. I shock mine every year and would rather pay the 50 and sleep well at night.
