Fella's;

I'm in the process of resurrecting a barn find. It's a
1965 Ford F250 3/4T 4WD long box pickup. The powertrain
is a 292 Y-block V8 & a four speed, the hubs seem to be
Warne turn-outs.

Got it out of the old garage yesterday, that was
relatively easy. Then I had to get the agricultural
spray rig out of the bed of the pickup, that was a bit of
a project it's own self. The rig is a 500 gallon tank on
its own frame that also has its own engine to drive the
pump. Hoses & spray bars everywhere, to catch on
anything possible, to add gray hairs to my already lumpy
noggin.

This all got started when I looked the truck up on the
NADA classic cars blue book. It has appreciated since my
father-in-law bought it. High book is over
$23,000.00! That's just nuts & this truck in no way
qualifies. But, it's all there, all original, and in
running condition. OTOH, it's been a ranch truck all
it's life and it shows. A show-stopping beauty it ain't!
Nonetheless, median sale price is shown as well over
$11.000. And I think that's optimistic.

I've contracted with a local guy, who I've known for
several years, he's another motorcycle nut, to help put
the thing on E-bay motors. He says that a reserve of
$8,000 is what his experience says is reasonable. His
thought is that once the reserve is met, frequently the
bidding gets more enthusiastic because then the vehicle
is sold, it's just determining the who it's sold to.

He's got me looking for any old records the ranch has on
it. Old registrations, log book, original bill of sale,
stuff like that. It's supposed to really be able to
influence the price it ultimately goes for. It also
means digging through an incredible amount of old ranch
records. What fun!

I need a beer.

JSG;

Uh, the sprayer is a John Deere brand. It'd probably cost
more than the truck is gonna bring to replace it. As far
as the truck goes, give me 10K and it's yours.

Fella's;

The sprayer more than doubles the price. Not only pics,
but video will be up on the E-bay motors site when it hits.
But when it does, it's outta my hands.

Let us know when it makes it to ebay. I wouldn't mind
seeing a pickup that is as old as I am.

It's the 61-63 uni-bodies that the collectors are after. The rest will follow
in time.

Fella's;

It's now up on E-bay motors. My above description had one
major error, it's not a 292 Y-block. In 1965 Ford changed
the powerplant & dropped the Y-block. So, it's a first
year 208 HP 352cid engine. It's also low mileage, under
76,000 miles! It's not cherry though, oh boy.

Search for an F250, gas, under 100,000 miles & it should
pop right up. There are 4 videos as well as pics.
