Ok guys, I have a big tree rat problem. I live in the city limits so my .22 is out of the question, although I used it a time or two out of pure frustration. The BB guns now are either expensive as all get out,or pure junk . When I was a kid I had a single pump Sheridan .177,I think it was a Blue Streak, that there wasn't a tree rat safe anywhere around our house, birds, snakes, gofers. all clean kills out to about 50 or 60 yards.

So what's out there now, any input ?

I might add the Crossman's that my boys have had are all but wore out,the Daisy won't even cock anymore. Their new counterparts are all plastic.

Nearly as good as you remember, I prefer .22 over .177 myself. Sign up for e-mail and save another 10%.

If you want some real fun and can get past the plastic. I have this one and it's a blast and very accurate. Works good for flying rats too.

I have a Gamo Whisper. It will knock a Eurasion dove out
of a tree from 50 or so yards. I haven't tried any farther
It seems to be relatively accurate.

After a lot of reading,of reviews and company service I went on the hunt for a Beemen ,and found a Bear Claw on sale. Seems like something that may take care of my problem, time will tell.

I have couple "springer" air rifles, you'll be happy with it. I prefer the fixed barrel do to increased accuracy, but springer, is much faster to shoot and is plenty accurate for head shots.
