A buddy and I did a morning hunt. It actually lasted till around 2:00pm when the wind made it hard to hit the little Squirrels.

Gophers

Man was I hot at first I went 15 for 15 with the 22/250 52 gr match kings. Anywhere from 90 yards to 250 yards. My buddy added a bi-pod to his CZ 223 and it moved his POI so he shot like crap at first. We did some field sight in and he started to hit. He shoots "Cast" bullets in his 223, why I have NO idea, so he did not have range much over 200 yards. As the wind picked up our average went down but being HOT mine only went to 15 for 30. In all I got right at 30 gophers and shot 45 time Not bad at all, shooting off my sit up bi-pods. He went more like 30 for 70 still not bad for "Cast" 223.
Good day to blow off 100 shells...
PS one I shot, took 3 shots, one at 345 yards. I tried to let him shoot the ones under 150 and I took the longer shots.
All fun

250yds is still 22LR range. They cost nearly as much a 22-250 I
suppose.
In any case wish I could've joined you.

D4570: Thank you for the Ground Squirrel "link".

The "density Map" gave me some new ideas on places to head to when I get the wunderlust.

I clipped off 320 rounds of rimfire ammo at "Gophers" yesterday afternoon, myself.

I wish I could AFFORD to shoot some of my centerfires anymore at Ground Squirrels (like you do!).

Hold into the wind
