I bought one. In December, 3 days after Christmas, it was delivered to my door step, no assembly required. What it is is, an M-274 mechanical mule. It is a 14 hp horizontal opposed Hercules engine. 13 inches of ground clearance. 1 seat. It fits in the back of an 8' bed of a pickup truck. It weighs 970 pounds and will haul 1000. It's air deployable, but I don't have a plane. It has a 2 speed axel giving me 6 forward gears and two reverse. In high range it will almost make 40 mph. The range with a full tank is supposed to be 150 miles.........Kingpin

Sounds like a great hunting vehicle. I wouldn't mind seeing a picture.

Fella's;

Well, it has been known to have a 106mm recoiless rifle mounted on it.  Though it might be impressive to us, I doubt that any fame & gish in the U.S. would think it's funny.  Or legal.  Just an impression I've got, no research done mind you.

Tel (406) 961-4024

Seems kind of spendy and it doesn't come with the 106, you have to add it. http://mechanicalmulesofamerica.com/Towed106.html

Now this one looks interesting, gophers beware.

I saw the Mule. It is in very nice shape for 45 years old.
I tried to get Kingpin to take it on a joyride around the neighborhood
but he declined.

DD;

But can you talk Kingpin into coming to MYGAWDS?  I'd even let him come if he didn't bring the mule.

BEAR;

You have my permission to tell your wife it's a lawn implement.  Whether or not she believes you is up to you.  Is your new place going to have a bigger lawn than the old one?  If so, your chances might be fairly good.  OTOH, if the lawn is smaller to miniscule in size, well, it's been nice knowin' ya.

BEAR;

And I'm doin' the flip side of your experience.  Our house sure seems like it's sold, so we're in a mad dash to get ready to move.  Here's hopin' the ranch house project is far enough along to keep up from campin' in a tent.  Got the tent though if it's really needed.  It's the lack of a kitchen and shower that's gonna cause the fireworks from the distaff side.  Me, I'll just raise a stink.
