hey, everyone - i've got a friend who wants to get into reloading. his name's dan, he's a good ol' boy who likes to fish and cook, and he just joined under the name "gonefishin." give him a hearty WELCOME and help him get started, if you can!

he's starting out with .45ACP and 9mm, and also branching out into .308 and .223 (for an AR15). i was wondering if anyone had some spare equipment that might help get him started that could be had for a good "help-a-fellow-member-out" rate, or possibly even a spare press that can be had for shipping? i checked and we've got some shell holders here at my place. it's not much, but i'll be able to donate them to the cause, if he needs them.

if anyone else can help out, or knows of some great deals, please reply here. also, if someone with more experience than me can check this out and offer some opinions, that would be great:

thanks!

ron

Hi Ron!  Thanks for the welcome.  It looks like there's plenty of good information here...I've got plenty of reading/learning ahead of me.  I'm looking into handloading in 9mm, 45ACP, .308 and .223 (for AR15), I'm going to check out some of the sticky threads here.

I see you have an archery forum too, I'll check that out as well!  My 7 year old son recently got me shooting a bow again, after nearly 30 years.  We bought him his first bow for his last birthday, which was a perfect opportunity for me to get back into shooting.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays All!

gonefishn......check MidwayUSA for new prices of stuff from ad you mentioned.  http://www.midwayusa.com/

there are many other places too.....check search engine for reloading "training" info....also go to youtube site and type in reloading .45acp to see what comes up...most videos are from reloaders but sometimes equipment companies post "how to" reload etc with their stuff.

good luck....let us know how you make out with your research

Thanks for the welcome & advice IrishBirdDog and Wing Master!

Looking for videos on Youtube is a good idea, even just to familiarize myself with the whole process...I'll keep an extra eye out for some of the manufacturer videos out there.

   Thanks!
Have a Safe & Happy New Year All!
