Fella's;

Alas! I had hoped to get the new SIG 1911-22 in stainless, but apparantly that died somewhere between the wholesaler who had it listed & SIG. So, I just bought one that's blue.

The gun both looks & feels just like a 5" 1911 platform in .45ACP, but it's of course a .22 rimfire. This isn't a conversion package on a 1911 frame, but a true rimfire pistol as a complete unit. The manual of arms is pure JMB near as I can tell, though I haven't had it apart yet. And, as far as that goes, it certainly appears to be at least very similar to the 1911 platform also. In other words, yes it comes with a barrel bushing wrench and when you rack the slide you can see the spring guide under the barrel.

The blue is matte, the grips are stippled double diamond wood, and the sights are Novak type with green flouro dots. The magazine is metal, not plastic, and is a substantial unit that drops out with the same operation as the 1911. The barrel does not tilt, but then after all it is a rimfire & there are practical limits to how far SIG needs to go in faithfully following the centerfire gun.

I haven't shot it yet, that comes this weekend. I'll report on how well it does in both accuracy and function. At my age, I'd wish I could put either a red dot or holo sight on it, but that's a non-starter due to slide weight & blow-back operation. And I don't need the expense of some exotic mount that can make it happen.

Speaking of which, the cost was right in line with what I see online at GunsAmerica. I coulda paid the on-line guy a very few bucks less, but then with shipping & transfer, the total cost woulda been about a brick of decent .22 ammo more. In any case I paid well under $400.00 for the gun brand new. Only downside is that it only comes with one mag.

OK, I shot it this past weekend.  It's consistently low & to the right.
I tried several different kinds of ammo from different makers & types within the same brand.  It was absolutely reliable with the exception of Remington rimfire ammo.  I got two back-to-back fail-to-feeds with the Remmy stuff.  Everything else was flawless.  It looks like Blazer might be what it likes best, but I'd like to get POI & POA somewhat closer together before making any absolute statements.

I found out some more about the little SIG 1911-22 that's pretty interesting to me. I finally dug down into the guts of the case it came in & got all the paperwork etc. out. Mostly to find out how to properly disassemble it. Which is pretty much like a standard 1911, but not totally & you better had read up on how to do it the way it wants to come apart.

Along with the paperwork came not one, but two front sights! All three being of different heights to allow for adjustability. They even packed in the correct itty-bitty Allen wrench with which to change 'em out. Damn! Also, the rear sight is easily adjusted R-L, though it's not a micrometer click. It too is held in place with an Allen screw & the wrench is in the kit. So, more accuracy testing is in the future. I just thought I liked this gun before. Now I really like it.

FYI

More than one place http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/GSG_Sig_Sauer_1911_22lr_10_r d_magazine_ATIGERMM19_p/gsg-ati-germm1911.htm  These are the same metal mags the gun came with! I was gonna buy mags from sig, cause the pistol came with a discount card with a code on it. I called them up and with my discount they were gonna charge me 45.00 Ea. plus shipping. Order 3 from Joe Bobs and get free shipping!. 900F I also had to change out my front site and after I was hitting 8" plates at 50 Yards. Great gun! Kinda like it better than my Kimber 1911 22 (not the conversion)
