any easy way to sharpen a serrated knife blade???  seems most of my newer knifes have a half serrated edge.

Should I just grind the serrated teeth off?

IBD, I have that exact unit.  Great for straight blades.  but doesn't do serrations.  I liked them so much I have two, one in my gun room and one tied to my filet fighing knife.

By the way, you can buy replacement sharpening tools for it.

Bear, There are some diamond files/hones out there that are made to sharpen each serration, kind of like sharpening a chainsaw tooth.

I'm not a fan of serrated blades. I have found that they are mostly good for cutting rope, which they make short order of. It aggravates me that they have to include a serrated portion on a lot of new knives. What gives them that right? I use a triangle stone for sharpening the serrated portion of the blade. Spyderco has a very nice rig, if only I knew how to post pics.....................Kingpin
