This is a very very old book, probably in its 100th reprinting, each one unedited and unabridged, from it's original copyright of1848.

Subtitled The adventures of a soldier of the 95th (Rifles) during the Peninsular Campaign of the Napoleonic Wars

Published by Leonaur Books, copyright-2006, ISBN-1-84677-053-X

A short book, 182pp, but packed with the punch that only a journal from someone who was there can give....and that is exactly what it is. The reprinting of this soldiers journal (edited and in book form which he did prior to the first printing back in 1848) is an amazing glimpse into what life and warfare was like in between 1790 to 1810 or so.

Life, food, marching, equipment.....it is all there and a wealth of information to any on eof us who want to know what it was really like back then~ not just from the Army life, but from the society they marched and fought through.
