Not sure the count goes down, but the number with electric starters seems to go up.

MY COUNT IS 51.  Now my wife can't complain that I have more gasoline powered engines than anyone else.

Mine's still 61, but I've been directed to sell one of the cars, so it may go down.

Hey all you cylinder index nuts....it's not too late so I don't know why a diesel engine should NOT count for the cylinder index program.....it is still an "inFernal" combustion engine is it not?  Let's just identify how many cylinders in the count are of Diesel lineage!

IE: 21 cylinders in index and 6 are Diesel (as an example)

SO, HENCEFORTH ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE EMPOWERED TO GO FORTH TO THE ENGINE REPOSITORY OF YOUR MACHINES AND ADD ANY DIESEL ENGINES YOU FIND TO YOUR MIX FOR CYLINDER INDEX COUNT.

Who said diesels don't count??? OF COURSE DIESELS COUNT. Always have. Heck, we let Wankel engines in, didn't we? Now jets are a different story. Not sure what to do with those. Anybody got a turbine powered chain saw?

Well, I have a "jet" outboard type engine, it has same type of propulsion unit as the "jet skis" a pump to bring in water and push it out again instead of a shaft/propeller. Powered by a 2 cyl gas engine same as conventional outboard. It accounts for 2 in my cyl index total.

Well, the jet-boat is still a TWO cylinder engine driving a pump, so you get a 2-cylinder credit on your count. I'm talking about real turbojet/turbofan engines though. We obviously need a rule -- just in case anybody on here has one.

jet pumps have no cylinders...just an impeller, like a
fan!

turbojet/turbofan engines, DD has two of these b-90,
I've seen them.

"jet pumps have no cylinders...just an impeller, like a

What spins the pump then? I thought we were talking about like jet-skis and jet-boats, and I'm pretty sure they all have some sort of power plant to spin the pump. A lot of them even use internal combustion engines with cylinders to provide all that spinning. You get to count the cylinders on the engine that spin the pump, but you don't get to count the pump.

Reciprocating air compressors? Pistons in cylinders you
know. Potato ricers? Same thing, piston in a cylinder.
Oh this could get interesting!

I think some of the "jet" boats must use that mysterious force called "PFM" to spin the impeller.
