Hey guys! Tas' 7-year old broke his wrist. Ron can give you more details, as I am not sure what happened, but the poor little guy just sounded horrible on the phone when I called him. Please keep him in your prayers for God to comfort him and that his wrist will heal quickly and correctly. Thanks, Guys! |

Our prayers are with them. The good news is that God looks out for kids, youngsters heal faster and better that adults.

hey, guys - it's all good - the little guy was at a friend's house playing basketball and was challenged to attempt a slam-dunk. he tried, almost made it, and paid the price. he was one heck of a trooper after it happened and at the hospital. i got home monday at 1800 and his mom had his right arm in a sling and had given him motrin (it had happened about an hour before i got home). he was in a lot of pain but was bearing it very well. we weren't yet 100% sure whether to take him to the ER in havre (20 miles away) because nothing showed although it was swollen; our oldest son had a similar injury a few years ago and it had been determiend to be soft tissue damage rather than a break. when that happened, there really was nothing to be done. but after talking it over a few minutes, we decided to take him to the ER, where they x-rayed it and determined that both bones in his wrist had definitely cracked near the place where the wrist and hand connect - if i remember correctly, the smaller bone (ulna) cracked in two places. what happened was that when he came down on the driveway, his wrist hit full-on and it was like jabbing a green stick into the ground, the end jams up, bends a little and cracks. there was no splintering or anything and in spite of the pain - he was very lucky as it could have been a lot worse. they put a temporary splint on and he gets the "real" cast tomorrow. i took yesterday off and spent the day with him while he learned to be a one-armed lefty and dealt with the pain, which was pretty well controlled with motrin and tylenol used together. he went to school today and i am sure was greeted with sympathy by many of the girls and respect by many of the boys. i'm very proud of the way he handled the whole thing and was impressed - four boys, and this is the first broken bone - it was also his first visit to the hospital since he was born. he had a lot of questions about how the x-ray machine worked and seemed to be a little concerned about that, but went in to get the x-rays on his own without mom or dad, and for a 7-yr-old that's doing pretty good. thanks to all for the well wishes and prayers ~ ron |

Hey guys! Little Roger is doing good! He got his cast on, pink because my daughter asked him to. He's pretty proud of it! Hallie and I took him trick-or-treating on Saturday and we all had a blast! |
