It's time for a fall camping trip.  At first I didn't want to go, thinking about roughing it in the 32' fifth wheel with a furnace, but now I am getting in the mood.  The smell of coffee cooking over the open gas stove flame and bacon frying in the skillet.  Taking a nap on the sofa...  and the queen size bed is somewhat comfortable too.  I told my husband the only way I would go for it, is if he did all of the cooking and cleaning.  Oh, yes!  I am ready to get in touch with nature!

Come on, guys!

I've had 5 views and NO ONE responded to my "roughing it"??????

What is this world coming too....

Just so you know, my trailer has no tv or microwave, and I am NOT one of those annoying generator people.  And I do cook a lot over the campfire!

A man needs a motive to camp.  Hunting,  hiking, fishing, cross country skiing (yuppies), snowshoeing, even birding.  So I'd have to pick one of those to get excited.

I thought camping meant  "a tent", cotton/canvas!

"if he did all of the cooking">>>>>princess?

fall fishing trip.  Will be fishing for trout on Holter Lake.

BTW, I can't get my husband to tent camp.  He said he did enough of it in his twenties.

We have "NUTS" falling out of trees too, archery season!!

We ( Kids and I) always take a labor day bird hunt trip thats 3 days, the wife wants to have one weekend to her self before school. Then we do a deer /boat in over nighter late in deer season,November.

A lot of Christmases we rent one of the Forest service cabins to do Christmas in the mountains, thats FUN!!!!

As they said in the movie, "Mans gota know is limitations."
There is Family, Huntin, Fishin, Outdoors, . . .

The rest is pretty much frittering ones life away

Me personally, i would rough it but to each their own. Campfire coffee always taste better on an open fire. I love the sound of rain pelting the tent while i'm warm and dry inside. I have a portable DVD player i do bring to watch a movie before sleep time which is about the only gadget  i bring.

If you can sue McDonalds for getting you fat then why can't you sue the alcohol companies for all the ugly people you ended up sleeping with?

That's beautiful IBD. I could go for something like that any day.

the real Beauty IMHO is that there is NO electricity, NO water, NO neighbors ie 40A surrounded by county and national forest. Driveable to it 'cept in winter the snow makes it harder at times but most times can get in with chains on trk (front axle).  One time the first 120 mils took 2.5hrs and the last 2 miles took over 3hrs that way but the snow was deep 'nuff for the punkins' to drag and heavy.
