How could anyone do a better job than wayne and Robert duvall, and Kim Darby????   I'll not go, it will be second rate after the first.

Can't think of a remake that I liked better than the original?

Now I'll agree that Duvall IS Ned Pepper,,,but except for a scene here an' there,,,I think anyone could do JW's part( as played at the time ),same for Darby, she is only fair in everything she ever did.Cambell was COMPLETELY FORGETABLE!,Damon will be the same,,,and I have never seen Brolin in anything that I would've paid to see,,,and never liked him in anything! The trailer looks fair,,,we'll see.
If,,in the end all I have is my honor......it will be enough!

The new True Grit is an re-interpretation of the book not a remake of the first movie. I have not seen it yet but I'm sure I will on HBO or Netflix when the time comes.

from what I have heard/read the new TG movie is more of an actual following of the Book as written vs a re-interpretation of said book.

Hollywood seems to think they can make movies better because they have all these special effects to try and WOW people with. Deliverance is one of my favorite older movies of all time along with the original Longest Yard. There are some movies that should be left alone. Look at The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds. Classic and now Adam Sandler did the remake with Chris Rock and added a comedy touch to it. Gullivers Travels and King Kong with Jack Black. When Jack Black is going to be in it you just know they will try to inject comedy into the movie. I don't know how many people will agree with me but i think Jack Black is a shit actor and i don't think he's funny at all. True comedy to me is Jackie Gleason, Rodney Dangerfield, Richard Pryor, Jerry Lewis and Randy Quaid from his Lampoon movies to name a few.

If you can sue McDonalds for getting you fat then why can't you sue the alcohol companies for all the ugly people you ended up sleeping with?
