My next project will be a 7x57. It's a 1908 Brazilian action. The bolt handle and rear tang work was already done when I got it and it was done well. I just added a Dakota safety. The barrel is #2 Douglass, it won't have irons as I want this one to lean and sleek. The blank is English from Presliks. It's hard to photograph but I really like it. The bottom metal is a Jerry Fisher unit. It has a rounded shape, the floor plate as well as the bottom of the box and front tang. This will eliminate any island that the bottom metal sits on, it will blend in with the round contour of the stock. I really like it but it looks like the bow is fresh off the cnc. I might request another or just finish it myself. I think I'll use the skeleton grip cap pictured, not sure what I'll do for a butt plate. I looking for a slender open grip rifle in the end.

Looks great.

I'm amazed at the number of high quality projects you got going at the same time.

Good work guy.

Bear, sometimes I feel I have too many going at once. But between waiting for checkering and metal work having a couple different things going usually keeps me with something to do, mostly in the winter months. I don't really like doing a lot in the summer but I do some. What I really need to do is practice checkering so I don't have to farm it out. I have this and the 8x57 starting up but that'll be it for a awhile I think. No more new projects till I finish what I have in the works.

That grip cap will be an amazing addition. I cant wait to see the progress on this one.

This does seem like alot of projects to have going at the same time.

Bear, when I get quite a bit better and learn how to checker I might do a few here and there to fund my own stuff a bit, buy some wood. Maybe more when I retire one day but it's mainly a hobby.

Hudge, this one sorta shifted gears. Awhile back I decided to put together a rifle for a future sister in law. I took the blank from this project and I'm using it on her rifle. It will also be a 7x57, FN commercial action, Douglas barrel. I'm currrently awaiting the metal work. I'll get back to this project with another blank this fall. Here are a few progress pics of the current project.
