Good morning LOW WALL . . . I am like you . . . my first hunting weapons were shotguns . . . except for a Winchester bolt-action .22 short.  Shot as many rabbits as I could with that little dude.  It was about as accurate as any gun I ever owned . . . at short ranges.  Cheap to shoot too . . . which was important when I was young.  First gun was a "nameless" single-barrel .410.  First "good" gun that I bought for myself was a Remington 870 I bought in college.
