not too long ago I heard LITTLE JOE THE WRANGLER,,,for the first time,,,,,,,,,I'm done with music.I gave up the music from the various times in my life because of the good/bad feelings/memories from those times,,,my only sanctuary music wise was full on symphonic,,live polka,(German/Austrian),and WESTERN,,Sons of the Pioneers kind of stuff,,as in WESTERN,,,and even though I have always gotten the wistfull,,dreamy,,melencholy thing,,I've never felt sad,,,Little Joe did that to me.............wonder what Freud(?) would say about this?Anyone else get affected by certain music this way.................or do I have a screw loose

You need to pick up some Don Edwards music. He has some very moving songs. Freedom Song, and the Coyote songs come to mind immediately.
I work with, and play music with, a very good cowboy musician, that does many story telling songs. I also play solo. They are my favorites. Recently, a woman who was at a venue I was playing, came up to me during a break, and asked if I knew any other music than what I was playing. I asked her why?  She said when I was playing what I was, she had to stop and listen to the story, rather than carry on conversations with people, as she usually would during entertainment. I told her, that was the nicest compliment I had ever recieved.

Wak',,A couple of my fav.s is Edwards rendition of "Colordo Trail",and"Deep Water,Ice And Snow",,I will miss them............,,the reason I like full on symphonys is I can just enjoy the SOUNDS,,the music means nothing,,no memories good or bad,,no personal reminders etc.just neutral sound to enjoy,,,,,and live polka,(the only way to really enjoy polka)makes me happy as hell inside and out,,plus all the previously mentioned benefits of the syphony,,,,,,not to mention the bier und worst!!!!!!!!!!!,if it wasn't for the majesty of the former, and the general all over enjoyment of the latter,,I give up music all together,,,,,I'm tempted to work on it anyway as part of my new minimalist mind-set.AUF!!!!!!
