Be careful what you decide to not like. Your wife may wear one. Your son may ride one. Your daughter may bring one home. You may have to have one someday.

Girl hit by lightning in good condition

By H-P STAFF
KALAMAZOO — A Kansas girl injured by lightning Monday at Silver Beach in St. Joseph was upgraded to good condition at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalmazoo, a hospital spokesman said this morning.
Lyndsay Prager, 10, of Haysville, Kansas, just south of Witchita, was injured by lightning near the Shadowland Pavilion. The lightning struck about 7:18 p.m. as people gathered for a Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra concert at the pavilion and crowds were headed to the beach for the night’s fireworks.
St. Joseph police, in a news release Tuesday, said Lyndsay was leaving Silver Beach with her sister, Myriah Jacobs, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Dale Whiteaker of Milan, Mich., when she was struck by lightning.
The force knocked Mrs. Whiteaker down, but she was not injured.
Lyndsay was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center and was then airlifted to Bronson Hospital.
