In anticipation, I don't get the Howa Barreled action in time for hunting season, for the LGD.
She has been using her Uncles 7.62x39 CZ. She can us it this year too. She shoots it light out BUT with the shortages I don't want to have her shoot up all her hunting rounds. I found some cheep in stock, non corrosive Wolf steel case, 124 gr FMJ shells. $.60 apiece delivered to my door, shipping is a killer, I ordered 200. She is not as fast shooting with a bolt, and it should feed her for a few P dog trips. IT'S ALL ABOUT TRIGGER TIME !

That should keep her shooting for a while. Like you said trigger time will keep her sharp.

Did you get a stock for the Howa???
Was in Erie Pennsylvania yesterday. GM had a good bit of ammo at regular prices. No '06 or 30-30 or 243; but tons of 260, 30-40, 375, 7x57 etc. 300 savage Just not the most popular ones. So it might be coming back

"Did you get a stock for the Howa???"
Yes I did. A factory takeoff, youth, composite. $40 and freight with a $20 off coupon. It has a decelerator recoil pad.

Good deal D. We have been on the search for trap loads for my son. We have a school trap league, but shells are hard to find...even harder to find them under $15/bx!

What does he use?
Lead are simple and fast to load. Hulls and primers are hard to find, right now.

He's using a 20ga currently. I found one case of 12s a few weeks ago and traded the coach for 20s. Hopefully we get the shipment from Federal for the matches...we'll see.

I'm having buyers Remorse.
I think I should have got more, yes I know there cheap crap un-reloadable BUT!!!! There gone where I got them, when I ordered they indicated they had several 1000 on hand. I found some more I wish I knew how they are going to shoot 200 may not last long. https://www.outdoorlimited.com/rifle-ammo/7-62x39mm/tula-7-62x39mm-122-gr-fmj-100-rounds/ Even with there stupid high shipping there $.55 each on 200 more. I'm going to hold off and hope. We will see how they shoot.

Some of those have a shellac coating. When the barrel gets hot, the case coating melts and sticks in the chanber. Shooting slow and cleaning the chamber after every session helps.
