QuoteReplyTopic: Boat kill switch tether ? Posted: 13 March 2021 at 09:43
Do you use them? Do you HAVE to use them, When do you use them?
My boy and I where just talking about them one drack night running 30 mph down the dark Missouri river.
Should you have the tether hooked to the driver standing driving the boat?
Let's say there are two persons in the boat on a river, the driver gets knocked out and has the cord attached to them. Now they're in the water and the boat is drifting aimless downstream twice as fast as the driver could ever swim. How can the second person start the motor to go back to help the person in the water or at the very least put the boat onshore and give the swimmer a chance to get back to the boat...
Do you? would you?

If like IBD says, you get another kill pin; then you could hang it by the motor. It boatman fell over, and pulled the pin, and pin on wrist when over also. The the guy in the boat could insert the replacement pin, but would also need to start the engine.
